The event was held by the CEO- Catholic education office and it was called ‘Teen Matters’ and was all to do with sexuality and relationships. Throughout the day there were 3 speakers speaking to over 2000 students which was more then 20 schools which attended the day. My roll in the event was to usher people. Helping them to find their seats. During the breaks of the event, i also helped people find their way in and out of the venue and assisted them with and questions they had and when they wanted to find the toilets. At the end of the event we stood outside the venue helping schools find their buses in an orderly way. What I learnt during my day at work placement was how to control large groups of people and to get them from one place to another in a fast and safe manner. Some problems which i was faced with was rude students, i overcame this by ignoring them and continuing to do the job in which i was required to undertake. The employability skills in which i gained while undertaking work placement includes: listening to and following instructions that were given to me, communication with fellow workers to get jobs done quickly and efficiently.
